HP Solo Ensemble

 

Noah performed on his trumpet for a judge at the HP Solo Ensemble last week.  The kids each played individually with an accompanist and could ultimately come home with the Gold, Silver, Bronze or Needs Practice.  Noah got a gold and a big smile to go with it.

Tennis Tournament

 

With end of the school year activities in full swing, we were off to WILCO park in Round Rock for the final tennis tournament.  Noah and Baker lost in their first match against the eventual winners of the Boys 5/6 Grade division but won their other matches.  They both did a good job standing their ground on certain calls and we all had a great time on a perfect afternoon at the park.

Mother's Day 2021

It was a busy Mother's Day in 2021.  It was off to church, a BBQ lunch with the Reeders/Pawliks and some time over at Westover playing tennis and on the playground, and then going for a swim in the evening.  While we learn something new every day, it was on this day that one thing was missing from the leftovers, ribs.  It appears Noah has developed a new favorite.

Battle Of The Bots

Battle of the Bots is one of the favorite activities of the year for the fifth graders.  They build a paper mache animal that sits on a piece of wood which has four screws drilled into the base.  The bots have a motor with a fan on the back that makes them move.

They battle it out on a section of wood and the last bot standing on the wood (didn't make it to the carpet) wins the round.

 It was a penguin for Noah and he made it to the third round!

It was Field Day for Noah and the 5th graders last week at school.  Of course they had water games....

......they had Kona Ice.....

.....and activities to keep them busy all day long!

That Tree

 

The late freeze every year took a toll on that Ash tree.  It hung on for a number of years but the Texas freeze in February 2021 did it in.
