Somehow we missed President's Day but George Washington did make an appearance.

"Box Out"

What is "Box Out"? It is a type of basketball maneuver in which a player positions his body against an opponent, in an optimal space on the floor between the opponent and the basket, in order to secure a rebound.

In our example, Noah (player) properly positions his body against his opponent (Mom and everyone else at the table) in an effort to secure a rebound (more caramel milkshake). He does this exceedingly well.  

Not satisfied with eating 75% of the milkshake, he then proceeded to lick it clean.  We thought two cheeseburgers and fries would have been enough.  Sometimes he is a bottomless pit and sometimes a very shallow chasm.

The folks at Little League don't mess around down here.  Noah now has two hour practices twice a week and his first game won't be for a couple weeks.  They spend an hour in the cages and an hour on the field each practice.  It's exhausting just watching them.

It was off to Jacob's first practice last Saturday.  He got to run bases, hit, field and meet his new team.  The coaches will pitch and bring the tee in when necessary.  

He had a great time at his first practice.

Almost There

It was back to the pool on Saturday morning for swim lessons with Jacob.  This round is almost over and he is getting better in the pool each time we go.

Patriots or Eagles?

As we all settled in to watching the Super Bowl last Sunday evening, we chose sides.  Interestingly enough, three of us were for the Patriots and one for the Eagles.  The game ran a little long as to be expected so we let Jacob know that his team won the following morning......he was quite pleased.

The boys latest birthday party was at the skating rink and, for Mom, a step back in time.

Jacob's Robot

All the kindergartners made robots for class the other week.  Jacob was very proud of his robot and named him Tyrannosaurus Rex.  Did we mention he likes dinosaurs too?
