Covid #23 - Open Spaces

The weather is near perfect this time of the year so we are out most nights.  On this night, Jacob was learning to catch in the outfield and did great.  We threw/caught until he was pooped.

Then we did some batting practice....nice to have baseball fields all to ourselves!

Covid #22 - Shelter Elsewhere

We headed for greener pastures last week and got a picture of a boy that looks older than he really is.

Corona #21 - Tree

We saw the demise of that tree last fall as it was a terrible end to the summer that went late into October.  After a complete rebuild of the chainsaw, we got after the tree and brought it down.  Memo to Noah & Jacob....No ethanol in the chainsaw, ever!

Covid #19 - KFC

What goes better with a pandemic than KFC?  It was Friday evening and we were off to get chicken and to the park to throw the ball.  We forgot all the parks had been closed by the City of Austin so we rerouted to the Hyde Park Quarries campus and found that to be locked up too.  We cut our losses and headed to our back yard.  Noah has a tendency to eat very little or a lot at meals and, on this night, he put down five pieces of chicken, two biscuits, all the sides and a cookie for dessert.  We all sat there amazed.

Covid #15 - Tale of the Tape

Interestingly enough.....both boys were right at about the same height at 52" tall at 7 years and 9 months.  At 9 years and 9 months, Noah measured in at 57 1/2" tall.

Covid #13 - Cap10K

Noah.....We were up to almost four miles in our training sessions for the Cap10K.  The race was set for last Sunday so now maybe we will try again next year.  You enjoyed the colder weather training sessions and had a pretty good 'kick' at times as we always completed our training sessions in an almost all-out sprint.

Covid #12 - Groceries

Kind of sparse at the grocery store over the last month. Little to no pasta, dried beans, peanut butter, flour, pancake mix, and other assorted items.

Limiting the number of people that can enter the grocery store.  Very odd that the grocery stores limited hours of operation and attributed it to the need for addition shelf stocking time required with only a fraction of the customer throughput.

For the record, you two were quite pleased when we were able to have pancakes once again.

As we dug further into the pantry, the opportunity arose to make Split Pea soup.  We gave it a try and the kids loved it.
