Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Bath time is always a happy time.  We think that Jacob enjoys it a bit more than Noah though.

Dell Children's Museum

Noah got to play the part of construction worker at the children's museum over the weekend.  He enjoyed enjoyed every part of the museum and had a special fascination with the trains.

Jacob, meanwhile, loved the blocks that were one-quarter the size of him.

And They're Off!!!

It took all of about a week from his first attempts at crawling to cruising all the way across the room.  He's very proud of himself as are we.  Lately Jacob is excellent at going right to sleep and excellent at awaking around 5:00 AM. He is a great eater and it won't be long and formula will be a thing of the past.

More from the Parade

Noah can always seem to spot his Mom & Dad at his school functions.  Here he spotted Mom and stepped out of formation (of course, she had created a big poster board for him so she wasn't hard to miss).  At their performance in Chapel last week, he spotted us and came running as well....always with a big smile.

No Fear

Noah doesn't show much fear of anything these days and is willing to tackle almost anything.  Amazingly, we've only had some scrapes and bruises so far.  He seems to understand his limitations quite well.

Week of the Young Child Parade

Jacob got a front row seat to the festivities last Friday in the Bye-Bye Buggy at the parade with his teacher, Ms.Micah, at the helm.  Over the weekend, we think he pretty much crawled for the first time.  He has been trying to pull himself up to the standing position with anything he can get his hands on so he won't be satisfied crawling for long.

Week of the Young Child

It's Week of the Young Child at Hyde Park this week and Tuesday was Teacher Appreciation Day.  For the occassion, Noah helped bake some cookies for his teacher and for Jacob's teacher. Plenty of cookie dough was consumed all throughout the process.

Brothers

These two little guys get along as well as we can expect right now.  Jacob is entranced with everything that Noah does and continually follows him with his eyes.  The resemblance between these two is becoming more pronounced by the week.

PS....there are those fireman boots again!

Enjoying the Outdoors

It seems that Jacob is enjoying his first spring.  Saturday was perfect for a little playing around in the backyard.  He seems to be perfecting the big-belly laugh right now.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates

If you don't recognize the little guy on Noah's pajamas, you may not have been to our house lately.  His name is Jake and he is from the Jake and the Neverland Pirates cartoon on Disney.  This cartoon has captivated Noah for the last two months, so much so that Bob the Builder has nearly become a distant memory. They had pajama day at school the other week and he would not have left the house in any other pajamas than these.

Noah in Blue Bonnets

He was ready to take out the strider bike on the track but we got him to sit down for just a couple pictures.  With about another three months until his third birthday, we haven't gotten him completely out of diapers yet but he has done an excellent job going to school without diapers or pull-ups the last couple weeks!

Jacob

Not too may Blue Bonnets this year with the lack of rainfall but there were just enough to get some pictures.  We have determined that Jacob enjoys being outdoors exponentially more than he enjoys being inside.

100 Meters

Before making a couple laps on the track with his strider bike, Noah showed us just how fast he could run!  The weather last Saturday could not have been better.

It's New Camera Week!

The time had come and gone to get a new camera.  This week, it arrived. It may take another six months to learn all the settings but we are beginning to get this thing figured out.  Jacob has taken a liking to his Zany Zoo (pictured behind him) and is gettting ready to crawl!

Easter

The day started early for all of us.  Mom and Dad caved on the request to watch the two year olds on Easter morning at church.  The couple that was scheduled had done it the previous two years so it only seemed fitting.  Getting up early didn't bother Jacob....he does it every day.  After a quick look at the Easter baskets, it was off to church.  After a couple hours of over a dozen two year olds, it was time to get on the road to Fredericksburg.  Thankfully our friends the Bells took pity on us and helped with our class.

Noah watched a movie and Jacob slept the entire two hours of the trip.  After lunch it was time for the Easter egg hunt.  Once again, there was a lot of competition but Noah was up for it.

He gathered up plenty more eggs and candy and had fun with the whole family.  The weather was nearly perfect and everyone had a great time.

After a quick stop at the Reeder's cabin which saw torrential rains and marble sized hail, we packed it up, headed home, and everyone went to bed early.

The Rise of Jacob

He's getting close.  Jacob reaches almost immediately
for the coffee table once we put him down on his mat.  One hand, then the second as he struggles to push him self up. He's one of the youngest in his class so he is seeing a lot of the kids walking already.  We cheer him on and he seems appreciative of that.

Pre-Easter at the Quarries

Saturday afternoon was the easter egg hunt for the church.  Set up on the football field, there was plenty of opportunity to get some eggs.  With a little instruction, Noah took right off at the gun and new just what to do. He was very deliberate in the eggs that he wanted, not just any egg would do.

Of course there was plenty of time for the bouncy house right after the hunt!
