It was a tough first half for Noah's team the other night.  They listened to coach at the half and looked like a completely different team in the second half.  They almost won but came up a little short.  We may see more full court pressure in future games.

In a busy week before the break was the middle school band performance. The kids did a great job playing nine different songs.  Noah and Will are the sixth grade trumpets!

As Noah endures his first set of finals, we were once again reminded last week just how much gear he has to haul to school every day.  Trumpet, basketball shoes/clothes, Case-It, and a backpack full of books, computers, planners, etc.

Antelope

While we were getting rid of a couple hogs that were eliminated the other weekend, Jacob found this skull of an antelope.  He has added it to his collection which has grown to be pretty large.

HP Basketball

 

Noah is playing organized basketball for the first time this season for Hyde Park.  They had a great first game and won 30-10.  Noah got a basket, a number of rebounds and a steal in the first game.  Their second game is tonight.

Regions of the US

 His project was of the regions of the US including states, capitals, goods produced, goods consumed, etc.  He put lots of time into it and learned a few lessons along the way.  The most important lesson was to avoid, in the future, producing the grading sheet for which the project was to be evaluated on the final day of work.  However, he pulled off a great grade nonetheless!

UT Football Game

 

We went to the Texas football game the other week for an evening out.  Texas was playing Kansas and were were split in who everyone was rooting for.  Although we didn't expect much of a game....it went to overtime and Kansas won.  Next year we plan on a Texas A&M game and then maybe a game in Waco after that.
