Jacob and Noah had a great time riding their Jeep vehicle up and down the hill last weekend.  Noah was a bit dismayed by the amount of work to get their vehicle up the hill but helped Jacob a lot.

Lights Out!

Jacob won't give into a nap much anymore but there seems to be a point where he can no longer fight it.  We don't get to that point often but this past weekend, he hit that point.  It doesn't look very relaxing but for him it was perfect.

Chutes and Ladders

Jacob won the first night and the game wasn't even close.  The second night saw some drama (and tears) and ultimately a win by Noah.  The parents were shut out of the victory column all weekend.

Pool Time

Apparently the morning on the lake wasn't enough last Saturday so we then immediately hopped into the pool.  Just two ways to take the edge off of summertime in Texas.

Noah did have about as much fun at the lake as anyone.  His favorite?  It seems to always be just floating and swimming.

Boating on Saturday

Saturday morning was an opportunity to go to Lake Travis with friends and relax.  Jacob got into the swing of it quickly and could not wait to ride the tube.  Even though Noah was apprehensive.....Jacob did not hesitate and might still be on the lake if he had his way.

Finger Lickin' Good

We are unified on our love of fried chicken.  Macaroni and cheese was a hit as well.  Mashed Potatoes and gravy as well as coleslaw were met with a lukewarm response.  As for biscuits, they always bring a smile to the kids' faces

They were all smiles at the fireworks display.  We attribute it to either (A) a fantastic fireworks experience, (B) staying up until 10:30, or (C) countless cookies, popsicles, etc.

Water Play

Jacob says water play days are the best days at school.  Each Friday in the summer is water play day and if one is ever cancelled, he is not happy!

Happy Fourth of July!

It was off to the Quarries on Sunday night for fireworks.  We had a reserved parking spot and were able to get there about 7:00.  We ventured down to the where the fireworks were to see what they might look like.  To our surprise, there was a barge that measured about 8 ft by 30 ft, loaded with all kinds of fireworks.  We weren't sure Jacob would be able to make it until they started but he did very well.  When it was all said and done, that barge provided entertainment for just over a half hour.

Six Years Old

Noah has been at Hyde Park Quarries camp all week and made a trip to the aquarium, Hawaiian Falls, and a movie.  He turned six years old yesterday and selected McDonalds for dinner and dessert.  He has had a fantastic week.
