Karate

The final week of the school year also saw the end of year demonstration of Karate class.  Quite fitting as we've been watching the Karate Kid movie lately.

Each of the kids were recognized for the traits that were unique to the child.  Noah got the leadership award and was always first to want to demonstrate in front of class.

Good Grief!

How does a five year old boy decide to crawl into his parents bed in the middle of the night, driving his mother out to another bed, leaving his father with virtually no room and ending up sleeping 90 degrees off the norm?

Kindergarten Graduation

Jacob has officially moved on to first grade next fall.  His kindergarten graduation was a couple weeks ago and he was very proud to walk the stage.  The principal and teachers were all sad that this was the final graduation for Doss Elementary.  Thanks to the overwhelming support and financial generosity of the taxpayers, Doss Elementary will be leveled in the next couple months after 50 years to make way for a brand new school to be built which should have almost twice the capacity.  We look forward to next year at Lucy Read (Doss will move to this site) and then what may be in store for us after the 2018-2019 school year.

The Big Board

Now that Jacob is six years old, we decided it was time to update our Big Board (growth chart on the wall).  We had a marking for Noah when he turned six years old and Jacob was shy of that mark by only about 1/2".

He refers to these little guys as 'Chickmunks'.  They were commonly referred to as 'Woodchips' by Noah in past years while the rest of the world refers to them simply as 'Chipmunks' (or Alvin, Simon or Theodore).

Trip to NE

It was a 1,600 mile round-trip for Dad and Noah to make the trip to Nebraska to help Grandpa and Grandma and pick up a refrigerator and some other furniture.  Thank you for all the stuff that we packed into the U-Haul.  

Along the way, Noah found time for a donut that was the size of his shoe!!!

2018 Family Camp

2018 Family Camp had plenty of time for praise and worship out at the Highland Lakes.

Games were played well into the night.....tug o war being a favorite and Ships & Sailors before we headed off for smores.  Jacob....You didn't like that the mothers were given a little help in a tug o war match against the kids....you are pretty competitive!

We also had plenty of family time except for the exit by Noah and Dad to run back to Austin for Noah's baseball game.
