Fire

With temps in the 40's to 70's all week, there were a lot of fires and all the kids loved it.

And when the week was over, much like the olympic flame, the fire was extinguished and the fire pit got a well deserved cleaning.

Picnic

One evening we had a picnic in Park Rapids, complete with Fried Chicken!

Noah played on every piece of equipment he could find.....even the tallest slide on the ages 5-12 jungle gym.

He must have rode this slide almost 20 times.

When he needed some assistance, Nicholas was there to provide a helping hand.

Straight Lake

"I drive boat!"

Uncle Curt took the kids on a "three hour tour".

The water wasn't too warm or too cold....it was just right.

Noah got to see both Erika and Lauren water ski and has something to look forward to.

Slip 'N Slide

Grandpa and Grandma surprised the kids with a blast from the past, the Slip 'N Slide.  Since Noah experienced one back on his birthday, he jumped right in on the fun.

To say he had a good time would be an understatement.

Road Trip

Noah was a great traveler on his MN vacation.  He slept, watched DVD's, and generally amused himself the whole trip.  Noah and Dad took a flight from Austin to Kansas City, Missouri, and then drove to the cabin.

Noah loved the rest area for lunch where we dined on leftover pizza.  We think Mom really would have liked to have been on this trip as the rest area is one of her fondest childhood memories.

We will get back to some photos from MN and check in on Jacob very soon.

Day 2 - Northwoods Adventure

There was fishing with Grandpa.

Moments of solitude.

Lessons to be learned.

Adventure on the high seas.

Group hugs (Noah is in the middle of the scrum)!

A Dilly Bar before bedtime.

Minnesota - Day One

It began with morning breakfast in Emmaville, MN, after a good nights sleep.

They had a vintage toy phone for Noah to play with.  Noah's teenage cousins, Lauren and Erika, weren't familiar with rotary phones either!

He waited patiently to play with the lawn mower and wore the headset because that is apparently what you do.

Joe Biden is still hanging out at the dock.  Uncle Curt kept an close eye on him.  We will have to find Paul Ryan somewhere around the cabin this week.

And then what?  There will be plenty to do over the next week!

Memo to Noah and Jacob.....daddy and uncle Randall broke through one foot of limestone to plant this live oak tree. The only casualty was the pick axe. It did not survive.

Bucket

No...not a fan of the bucket. "No daddy, no bucket." This is what we heard at the big pool.

The Helmet

On our trip to Houston last weekend, we all decided to take a walk in the early evening.  As we headed outside, Noah got hold of a helmet from one of his cousins.  Not that he needed it because he wasn't riding the scooter.  He did; however, manage to run the entire half mile in humid, 90+ degree weather, with the helmet on his head for the entire journey.

Jacob at Six Weeks

A cute boy?  Yes, if we do say so ourselves.  Jacob has begun sleeping a little better in the past week and has become a bit less fussy.  Still a great eater and beginning to smile a bit more with each day.  We think he is turning a very good corner right now.

Train Set

Noah received a train set from Grandpa and Grandma Reeder for his second birthday.  Noah loves the trains and will endlessly circle the table playing with them.  There must be some engineering DNA in there somewhere because he seems to also be interested tearing it down and rebuilding it.
