Resemblance?

We had to get a few pictures of Dad and Noah together that were taken at roughly the same age for a school project. In addition to the 'Popeye' forearms, there does appear to be a resemblance.  When Noah was asked who was in the picture, he replied 'No-No' (his pronunciation of Noah).

We've seen some real growth over the past year.  Looking forward to adding another pic on his third year.

Driving

This may be one of Noah's favorite activities on any given day.  What do we hear constantly?  "I drive race car".  A close second favorite activiity might be digging into the watermelon.

Captain Noah

Memo to Noah:  You were an excellent air traveler on three of the four flights but the fourth leg home was a doozy.  You let loose about as loudly as we've ever heard before takeoff on that final flight.  The nice stewardess brought you snacks and drinks which calmed you down.  You get your own seat next time we fly so that may help.  You were so good for the rest of the ride on that fateful fourth flight that they let you into the cockpit to man the controls when we arrived in Austin. At that point you were charming everyone so much that I guess they couldn't resist letting you sit in the captain's chair. Here's the proof:

An afternoon of having Straight Lake all to yourself....priceless.  Mom missed this trip since Noah's brother is due to arrive in another month....she is really looking forward to her next trip up North.

To say that he was amped up at bedtime last night would be an understatement.  However, his epic three hour nap (ended by Dad finally waking him up), may have also had something to do with this.

Meet Joe Biden

We are not quite sure how this may have happened.....but it did.  Two year olds will often make associations between what they hear and what they see.  Well, Joe Biden hasn't made an appearance as of late in Osage so Noah certainly hasn't seen or heard him in-person.  It seems to all come down to a conversation between Grandpa and Noah while they were cleaning the garage earlier today.  To make a long story short, our owl that sits on the post down at the dock has a new name, Joe Biden.  Now, every time we get Noah ready for a boat ride, we hear, "Joe Biden, Joe Biden, Joe Biden".  In an odd sort of way, it's really quite humorous.       

His Little Mind

We are left to wonder what may have been going through his little mind as he sized up this four-wheeler when we went to pick up the boat the other day. Amidst all the boats that were on-hand at Charlies in Park Rapids, this is what caught his attention.

Cupcakes

Noah will not always let his feelings be known.  He will play 'coy' from time-to-time and 'beat around the bush'.  Guess this was not one of those times.

Lawn Mower

This seems to have been the highlight of Noah's trip to MN so far.  The boy loves the lawn mower.  He will get his first chance to go out on the boat tomorrow so we will see if he finds his aquatic legs.   

Hi!

"Tree Down"

Those were the words uttered by Noah when he saw that half of the Spanish Oak had fallen to the ground, presumably because of an earlier storm.  He's become quite the little helper!

Driving

He loves to drive the truck, the car, the lawnmower, or any other vehicle he can find.  We may just have a future chauffeur on our hands.

AMEN!

It must have all started about a week ago.  Noah has always enjoyed hopping and skipping around the house.  He will jump about, skip around in circles, and just lets loose from time to time.  Usually, we have no idea what he is up to or what might be going through his little mind.  This time was different.   

While Mom and Dad were finishing supper and Noah had been long been excused from the table, we heard what appeared to be singing coming from the living room.  It wasn’t the television but that was Noah’s voice.  He kept singing the same word, over and over, with a distinct melody that we couldn't quite place.  Then it dawned on us as to what that song might be.  He was singing the 'Amen' song (perhaps there is another name for it)!  We were able to pick it out after a round or two because Noah had been absolutely nailing the melody in an old-time gospel fashion.  Needless to say, we were more than a little surprised.  I guess it's obvious that he has been paying attention when they get together and sing at school.  With a little prodding, we got him to belt-it-out in Fredericksburg over the weekend for Grandpa and Grandma Reeder.  We are actively trying to capture it on video, stay tuned.

The WIN Ministry

About once a month, Mom and Dad volunteer in the WIN ministry.  This means we look after the toddlers between one to two years of age during the church hour.  Since we are early risers, we go to the early service at 8:30.  We never quite know what to expect in terms of workload when we show up.  This past week, we looked after only one child….Noah.  The time before that, we had nearly 10 kids.  Go figure.   

Green Thumb

Noah helped Mom plant some flowers over the weekend.  We think he likes the dirt.
