You Too, Jacob.....

.....have now earned a seat at the table.  We bid a fond farewell to the high chair!

Interestingly enough, it was just about two years ago that Noah got his seat at the table.

Pajamas

Lori:  You put Jacob in Noah's pajamas
Brian: OK
Lori: Those are 4T pajamas
Brian:  Do I need to go shopping for 5T pajamas?

Sometimes......

.....Jacob doesn't even wait for us when it is time for books.

Project Frankenstein

Project Frankenstein wrapped up this past month.  What started as Aunt Susan & Uncle Patric's playscape, it saw around five or six years of considerable use by Benjamin, Nicholas, Elaine and Alida. Originally placed in service in Memphis and later moved to Houston, it will serve another generation (or more) in Austin and may have found it's final resting place.  With the core of the Live Oak that died a few years back still in place, there may still be room for a tree house to be built.  Time will tell.  One unintended consequence of this structure....it took Jacob all of about a day to quickly scale the ladder to the top of the platform.  At 20 months of age, the kid likes to climb.

Snack Time!

This has to be one of Jacob's absolute favorite times of the day....the afternoon snack.  They do get a snack after playground time in the late afternoon and when that collides with us picking up Jacob from school, the snack normally wins out against a swift exit from school.

Book Exchange

The kids did a book exchange at school this past Christmas.  Since Jacob has recently taken quite a liking to books in the past few months, this was a great present.

Seven Weeks Ago.....

.....and it was Christmas time.  The pictures they individually took for each of the kids in front of the Christmas tree were all pretty funny.  Jacob appears to have taken the relaxed approach to this photo shoot.

Loves the Playground

Jacob's teachers tell us he loves the playground.  It took him a while to get accustomed to the 'circles' that they use to walk to the playground but is now in the mastery phase. 

Week of Jacob

It's Jacob and his pictures from Hyde Park CDC all week long.  Perhaps he needed a little alone time on the playground or perhaps he has his snack and doesn't want to share (who could blame him).  Either way.....he seems very content in this picture.

Spanish Class

Noah seems to be doing very well in his Spanish class.  Not too long ago his teacher made it a point to let us know that Noah got all his vocabulary questions right and he was the only one in class to do so.  He's growing up quickly.

Sensory Table

All the kids love the sensory table.  A table filled with something different each week (sand, water, etc).  This particular week there was a block of ice in the sensory table.  Appears that it was hard to keep them away.

Puzzling

It's random pictures from the Hyde Park CDC Facebook page the next two weeks.  This week will be Noah and next week for Jacob.  Looks like this picture was taken early morning when they can pick an activity or during one of the cold days this winter when there were no trips to the playground.

Oliver Turns Four

It was off to Oliver's fourth birthday party last weekend at the Thinkery.  The Thinkery is now the former Dell Children's Museum.  Most of Noah's class is now four years of age but Noah will have to wait a little longer.  Of course, this hasn't stopped him from letting us know just what he wants for his birthday......a red bicycle (with pedals).  Time will tell.

While Jacob climbs.....

...on everything in the house, Noah has moved on to larger challenges.

Seems like we've said it....

.....a million times....rocks, sticks, and water make the best toys.

The Lost Weeks

It is a tribute to the lost two weeks of early January all week long.  Since the Google machine did not want to cooperate with a competitor's browser upgrade, we complied with their demands.

We call this shot, "Desperados".  Defined by the Free Dictionary Online as, 'A bold or desperate outlaw, especially of the American frontier', we liken these two to Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, or even Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.
