Shooting Range

Noah is getting to be pretty proficient after doing this a number of times.  He may be ready for something a bit different on our next trip to Fredericksburg.

Jacob took his first turn and got better with each shot.  He definitely wants to do this again next trip.

Everyone had a good time and Dad even got a shot at the target with the SKS which left the boys amazed at the bullet hole and even more amazed at the hole in the tree.

What's another game that is great to beat the summer heat?  Another classic game!

Battle Matching

This has been going on for a good month or so.  We play the game called Battle Matching, with the cards showing characters from the Despicable Me movies.  Much like the classic game of Concentration, we lay out 64 cards and the players flip two cards each turn and keep the pair when they get a match.  All four of us or three of us will play every other night before bed time and there seems to be only one constant, Jacob wins.  While three of us walk away frustrated every night, Jacob gleefully lays out his cards.  We've noticed lately that he is not even paying attention to the game at times and he still wins.

Evergreen Fun Park

They got to climb....

....and climb they did.

They got to jump.....

.....they got to drive....

.....we played 18 holes of mini golf....

....and almost got lost in the maze.

They goofed around a bit and, best of all, we had most of the park all to ourselves.

Jacob Taking Flight

Jacob took his first leap off the swimming tower.

He then tried to go 'Over the Top' and nearly made it.

Then he and Noah celebrated their birthdays with a Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake.

Dock Jumping

Dock jumping was back in season during our last trip.

Grandpa has cleared all the lake weeds and lilly pads and made a perfect spot to take the plunge.

Jacob really got into the act this last trip.

And for these two guys, the lake may have been a little cool back in June compared to the warm swimming pool water in Texas!
