Blue Bonnets
Warmer than normal this year and the lack of rain the past few months has impacted the spring wild flowers.

A Case of the Dots
Well, we guess it all started one afternoon. The kids were being very quiet and nowhere to be found. Mom found Jacob hiding behind a tree and he didn't want to come out. Not a good sign. He finally did and then Noah decided it was time to appear as well. They knew this was not good. Since Mom was the first to find them, she decided to bring Dad in to assess the situation. They aren't scared very often but this time they seemed to be. With that in mind, it was time to have just a little fun with them as Mom/Dad snickered at each other.
So, we lined them up for this dual mug shot and told them that we had to send the picture to the doctor to make sure we didn't have to pay him a visit. As soon as they figured out that we weren't too concerned or upset, they reverted quickly to acting normal again. Fortunately, they didn't get their hands on permanent markers, just washable ink markers. After a quick bath, all the dots had disappeared. For the record, Noah had dots all across his chest and stomach too! A very amusing day and they even produced very good mug shot expressions.

Fredericksburg
Next stop on Spring Break was Fredericksburg for a couple days. The kids got to play endlessly outside, swim in the river, go fishing, etc. They were building a road in this picture.

DoSeum
Next stop in San Antonio for Spring Break was the DoSeum. The children's museum was a lot like the one in Austin. The kids already love wearing capes but you add a wind tunnel and there might be nothing finer.

Kiddie Coaster
Even Jacob was tall enough for the kiddie roller coaster. They say that they never want to ride the giant roller coaster.....we'll see about that.

Perfect Weather
The perfect evening for outdoor dining. Of course, there is no finer outdoor dining than hamburgers, fries, and milkshakes.

Texas Independence Week
Friday capped of Texas Independence Week and the boys did their best impressions of cowboys. Noah brought his lasso as it was his visual for his kindergarten oral report. Mom and Dad only remember kindergarten being half days which included nap time. Guess times do change.

Jacob's Class Picture (Threes) at Hyde Park CDC
A lot of happy kids in this picture. We often hear about all the fun that Jacob has playing with Will, Gavin and Sloan. Jacob has had great teachers this year including Ms. Misha and Ms. Gladys. Ms. Gladys has now managed to spend some amount of time with Jacob all the way back to his start at CDC. Now for a look back at our previous class pictures:

Laser Focus
More of that dogged determination which Jacob often demonstrates. His letters are coming along well and he can focus like virtually no other.

Riding High in the Saddle
It is Texas Independence Week at school. As always, they have pony rides for the kids. If you can visualize something more than a black-topped parking lot, you can almost see Jacob riding the open range.

Jacob's Tower
We don't normally get pics from his teacher but she sent this one over yesterday. It appears Jacob has been hard at work with his latest creation! Ms. Misha tells us that he did all the construction including the bridges and tower.

Birthday Party at Smudge
A friend of Jacob had a birthday party last weekend at Smudge. It may look like a dozen paint cans simultaneously exploded all over the room but that is what the kids were there to do.....make art and get messy.

Yard Work
Outdoor cleanup happened early this spring. With ideal temps and no rain, it was time to move some mulch (two yards), spread some crushed granite and fill the sandbox, once again. The boys could have played all day in the mulch. At one point, they were even rolling around in it. It will take considerably more mulch next time around and we may have to get it delivered unless Dad can rent a dump truck (which he is not so secretly hoping for).
