Back to the Drawing Board

For Mother's Day, we experimented with making Red Velvet cake.....Mom's favorite.  We didn't go the easy route with Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines, we went with another brand that required a little more work.  A little more work should equal a better taste; however, that was not the case.  The cake was just OK so we will go back to the drawing board on this one and see if we can get it right and perhaps go with a different theory on cake assembly next time.
