| The Helmers Restaurant has been around for nearly 100 years. The Helmers family sold the restaurant to its current owners in 1940s and they elected to keep the name based on its fine reputation and the established clientele. The Helmers family now owns a chain of successful fast food restaurants in the greater NJ area. So glad that I was able to visit during my business travel to NJ/NY. I actually prefer staying across the river in Hoboken... great selection of restaurants and a terrific view of Manhattan! |
