Inventory Audit

Near as we can tell, Jacob was taking an audit of the kitchen prep inventory the other day.  He likes to eat so we think he may be concerned that we aren't equipped to keep up with his appetite as he grows.

Birthday Party

What to do with Noah and Joshua after they have ingested a pound of sweets at a birthday party?  Turn them loose at the playground, of course.

Train Ride

Lori takes the kids on a "train ride" in the wagon around the back yard when we get nice weather.  They are learning all the different types of trees in the back yard and 'hamming it up' as usual.

The Artist

We are pretty sure that Jacob enjoys finger painting at school!

Books

Jacob has taken a real liking to books in the last couple months.  Right before bedtime, he demands his books.  However, it is not uncommon for him to grab a few books and page through them all on his own for long stretches during the day. The sandbox and books....his current favorites. 

Davey and Goliath

 

One of the great cartoons circa 1970.  We stumbled across it on TV one day and have most of them recorded. Noah loves to watch it....along with his other favorite cartoon currently, Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

 

 

Sand Box

Jacob doesn't spend much time at any one task, usually moving from one toy to a drawer to the couch pillows to another toy.....and so on.  The sand box is one place that Jacob will play for an extended period of time.  Maybe there will be a spot for him at the local Ready Mix Concrete.

Simple Fun

The fall season in December.  Rock, sticks, cardboard boxes, and a huge pile of leaves.  The simple things make for the best fun.

Jacob's Track Mat

We were surprisingly pleased when we were tipped-off that IKEA had a great easel set for Noah and we ended up doing virtually all of their Christmas shopping there. A nice surprise.

Dump Truck

Right after Noah opened his present, Jacob took off out of the room with it.  Perhaps, on second thought, we should have seen that one coming.

Christmas in La Grange

 

We made a Christmas trip to La Grange to see the kids' great grandpa Leon.......

 

.....grandpa and Jacob had fun with the magnifying glass that Jacob got.....

 

 

.....and Jacob continued to be fascinated with his new toy and many pictures were taken.....

 

....and Leon was happy to see everyone and looked good at a young 93 years of age.

Project Frankenstein

Frankenstein is nearly complete.  All he needs now is a coating of Deck Over and it will be complete.  If the weather cooperates, we will hopefully be finished soon.

Sock Puppets

It would be an understatement to say that Jacob liked the sock puppets for Christmas.  He loved them.

The Duke

Jacob got a pair of cowboy boots for Christmas just like Noah did.  It took him a few minutes to get his walking down and in the process looked a lot like John Wayne.  If Jacob had any words as of yet....we're sure one of them would have been 'pilgrim'.
