Breakfast

What does Noah want for breakfast?  Well, the first time he responds in his sheepish morning voice and the second time imitating Grandpa Helmers.

Animals

Jacob took a liking to the horses out in Fredericksburg last weekend.

They got to see the cows too, close up, as we were leaving to go home.

High Chair

Within a year, we should be rid of the high chair for good.  Jacob eats as well as any kid his age and is just as proficient at scattering his food across the kitchen.  Although the high chair has served its purpose, we look forward to the day we can ‘kick it to the curb’.
PS….Jacob, you still arise very early but, for the record, you slept until after 6:00 AM the past two nights and we didn’t hear a peep out of you.  Good Job (as Noah says)!!!

Firefighter Jacob

We learned this week that Jacob apparently likes dressing up as a firefighter at school. He apparently takes after big brother.  If there is a real fire, Jacob has the vocal prowess to let everyone in the neighborhood (or adjoining zip code) know to seek safety immediately.  As of late, he has been exercising those vocal skills.

Fireman Sam

He loves dressing as a fireman and he loves the Fireman Sam. We think we know what Halloween has in store this year.

The Tongue

All of Jacob's teachers adore him but do get a chuckle because he sticks out his tongue all the time. We think it's pretty funny as well.

Climbing

We had few problems with Noah climbing when he was younger but he just had to show us how he could now climb the bed frame.  As for Jacob, he might climb the house and be on the roof if we take our eyes off of him for 10 minutes.

Noah Sandwhich

He calls it a "Noah Sandwhich" and it has become a bedtime ritual as of late.

MN Miscellany

Noah's first fish, we didn't need the landing net quite yet but that will come in time

Grandpa's new popcorn machine was a big hit and got quite a workout

Noah helped Grandma water the bushes (Chores are not optional)

Proof positive that Noah drove the lawnmower

We even found time for a quick family picture

An About-Face

The storyline for Week One of school was the marked improvement for Jacob.  He started the week in his new class and consistently cried when he first saw the door to his new room and the crying didn't stop when Mom/Dad left.  He took short naps, maybe 30-45 minutes for the first half of the week.  When we came to pick him up in the afternoon, he was still in a generally bad mood.  However, by Thursday/Friday....that all changed.  He began walking into class happy, had no problems with separation, improved his napping, and we even began getting glowing notes from Ms. Christina (his teacher).  By the next Monday, they said he was ready to move to his nap mat so we hauled it in.  Since that point, he has been the first kid to sleep every day and has consistently slept for the entire two hours.

First Day of School

Monday was the first day of school for Noah and Jacob.  Noah has moved on to the 'Three's' class and Jacob is in the 'Toddlers' class.  After two weeks of sickness and a week of vacation, our new found routine is quite welcome.

Jacob @ The Cabin

Jacob was up pretty early during our week in MN but slept a little bit better than last trip. We think his new found walking skills were put to good use so often that he just pooped himself out by the end of each day.

Whatever the case, he is a photogenic little guy.

The Bear

While we forgot to get our routine picture of Noah with the bear at the cabin, we did manage to sneak this quick picture with Uncle Curt and the DQ Bear.
