MN Miscellany

 

Noah's first fish, we didn't need the landing net quite yet but that will come in time

An About-Face

The storyline for Week One of school was the marked improvement for Jacob.  He started the week in his new class and consistently cried when he first saw the door to his new room and the crying didn't stop when Mom/Dad left.  He took short naps, maybe 30-45 minutes for the first half of the week.  When we came to pick him up in the afternoon, he was still in a generally bad mood.  However, by Thursday/Friday....that all changed.  He began walking into class happy, had no problems with separation, improved his napping, and we even began getting glowing notes from Ms. Christina (his teacher).  By the next Monday, they said he was ready to move to his nap mat so we hauled it in.  Since that point, he has been the first kid to sleep every day and has consistently slept for the entire two hours. 

First Day of School

Monday was the first day of school for Noah and Jacob.  Noah has moved on to the 'Three's' class and Jacob is in the 'Toddlers' class.  After two weeks of sickness and a week of vacation, our new found routine is quite welcome.

Jacob was up pretty early during our week in MN but slept a little bit better than last trip. We think his new found walking skills were put to good use so often that he just pooped himself out by the end of each day. 

 

 

Whatever the case, he is a photogenic little guy.

The Bear

 

While we forgot to get our routine picture of Noah with the bear at the cabin, we did manage to sneak this quick picture with Uncle Curt and the DQ Bear.

Pine Tree

 

It never really stood a chance....actually, two of them never stood a chance.  We dropped two trees in Minnesota last week without incident. 

 

We always stress safety first and these two characters get the hang of it quickly.  When we told Noah that the tree had died over the winter, he asked whether it was going to heaven.

.....there's another Joe Biden"! This we heard from Noah as we walked by over to the neighbors dock during our trip to MN last week.  It just never gets old.

Quarantine Week - Day Four

 

There's always time for some horsing around....especially when you're sick.  Although probably not an OSHA approved exercise, Noah enjoys it and, when he's sick, that's probably all that counts.

Quarantine Week - Day Three

Mom helped out with the kids all week long so Dad took Friday off from work to try and help out.  When it's 100 degrees, this little creek that runs behind Grandpa and Grandma Reeder's house is the perfect place to beat the heat, even when you are sick.

Quarantine Week - Day Two

 

Hard to tell this little smiling guy was sick all week long.  Noah always enjoys going to the doctor, we are not sure why but remain convinced he will ultimately grow out of it. 

It's Quarantine Week, All Week Long!

Well....all that sickness has been a little more persistent than we thought.  Noah and Jacob were out of school all last week but Jacob goes back today.  Noah, it may take him a little longer.  We will feature pictures from 'Quarantine Week' all week long!  Special thank you to Grandpa and Grandma Reeder for helping out in a very, very busy time.  Vacation is just around the corner and we need a healthy bunch for the trip!

When It Rains, It Pours

It all started on Sunday evening.  After going to church in the AM and to a friend's pool in the afternoon, bedtime was shaping up to be routine.  First, Jacob lost his dinner, a few times, all over Mom, the carpet, etc, and then Noah quickly broke out in the chills and was running a fever.  After two days, it appears Jacob is on the road to recovery but Noah is still fighting off whatever it is that he has acquired.  We are all ready to return to 'routine'.

Jacob really enjoyed Chipotle....we felt sorry for whatever poor soul had to clean the floor.

Where's Jacob?

Who knows why but this is quite possibly one of Jacob's favorite places.  When we can't find him and he has scampered off, this is one of the first places to look.  Standing, sitting, climbing.....all reasons he likes this little spot and has claimed it as his own.
