It must have been a pretty good vacation.....

.....because these two are getting along quite well.  More on our weekend adventure in the coming days.

Flash Cards

Noah recently began calling out letters that he sees in certain places (on the TV, the mail, refrigerator magnets, etc).  Because we just so happened to have them, we broke out his Cat in the Hat alphabet cards and quizzed the little guy.  Seems that he has been learning something at school. He got almost 2/3 of them correct on multiple attempts.

Port Royal (Port Aransas, TX)

This will be Noah and, of course, Jacob's first trip to the beach.  From the looks of it, if the beach doesn't work out, there are plenty of other opportunities to swim.  Maybe we can strap his strider bike to the top of the car and make it look like a real family vacation!!!

Climbing Wall

This is Noah's new favorite activity at the school playground just down the street. 

Easy Rider

Well....better late than never.  Noah had his first adventure on his Strider bike this past weekend.  After 'some assembly required' with the bike, a good fitting with his new helmet and very little direction, Noah was off.

He got the hang of it in little time with no accidents on the first day.

Before we knew it, he was riding off into the sunset.

Bumbo for Jacob

Jacob has progressed from his reclining chair to the Bumbo seat and seems to be enjoying it.  His neck muscles are developing and he holds himself up quite well.  As for that recall of the Bumbo seat in the news sometime back (so they could add a restraining belt), we are aware of the issue and have decided that although we live in the information age, too much information is not always a good thing.  We like to think we are rebels, yeah.....rebels.   

Helmet

Well, Noah got his new helmet this week.  Why a helmet?  It is to go along with his Strider bike which we may try out on him this weekend.  He enjoyed the helmet so much, he ate dinner with it on tonight.  So far, so good.

Chili's

Every day on the way to school, Noah points out Chili's restaurant so we were more than happy to take him to dinner.  Noah loved the hamburger (pronounced ham-gamma) and quesadillas.  Meanwhile, Jacob was the perfect gentleman and enjoyed watching everyone around him.

Swim Lessons

Saturday morning was the beginning of swim lessons which last for the next seven weeks.

The boy does love the water and Mom seems to enjoy it too!
