Spring Break - Elephant Seals

We left Los Angeles very early that next morning and made our way up the California coast.  We happened upon the Elephant Seal Rookery near San Simeon and enjoyed a break from the drive.

We were amazed to learn that these guys travel all the way up to Alaska.

Spring Break - Knotts Berry Farm #3

Some time had passed since Montezooma's Revenge so Noah & Dad headed for the largest wooden roller coaster at the park, Ghost Rider, and......

 

....later on did it again and Noah was proud of himself.  

But then it was time to go to the hotel after being up for the last 18 hours and the mood soured.  We had some In-N-Out Burger and called it a night so we could get on the road to head North early the following morning.

....we found the planes, bumper cars, Sidewinder roller coaster, and.....

....Noah panned for gold........

Day one of the Spring Break trip had us touching down in Los Angeles at 7:00 AM and we knew it would be a long day.....

.....after breakfast we were at the park at the open and got to Montezuma's Revenge for our first ride.  Zero to 55 MPH in 4 seconds, through a loop, up an incline and then the ride in reverse.  The majority of riders then took a moment to get their equilibrium back before moving on.

Charlie's Birthday

Charlie turned 7 years old and we had the opportunity to have the whole Harrington crew out to Fredericksburg for the day.

Doss Elementary

Demolition has begun at Doss Elementary.  After 50 years, the school down the street is coming down and making way for a larger ground up build.  Not too dissimilar from what is happening all around the neighborhood.
