Piano Recital

Noah's piano lessons have been paying off.  The Emporer's Theme can routinely be heard around our house as well as Bad Blood.  His first recital for class was last week and he played, "What Does The Fox Say?"  He was happy to perform second out of fifteen and did a great job.

Always answering the call, Jacob helped Dad wash the cars and they then went for ice cream.  Jacob wanted the cone in the picture, literally.  Since it wasn't for sale, we settled on regular cones.

Fireman Sam

London Fire Brigade: 'Fireman Sam' Cartoon Name Must Be Changed Because It's Sexist

One of the beloved cartoons of the boys, almost right up there with Scooby-Doo.  Regardless of the internal psychological conflict currently at play within the London Fire Brigade, let it be known that our household will continue to refer to Fireman Sam as Fireman Sam, no exceptions.

That Time Of Year

We made five designs and Noah has made his choice.  He wants speed.  OK.  Aerodynamics, polished axels, strategically placed weight, and the list goes on.  We are going to need a NASA engineer for this exercise.

Cub Scout Campout

Last weekend was the campout.  We didn't have to go far as it was down at Camp Mabry, only a few miles down the road.  Sure was a hot day for early October and there were a lot of people. Hiking, playing, capture the flag, cookout, fires, etc.

Fall Ball

Another season of baseball for Noah.  He started fall baseball last week with another round of coach pitch.  Much fun watching seven year olds learn to play ball.

Classic Arcade Games

Classic arcade games have an immediate draw to most kids.  If they had an unlimited supply of quarters, they might still be there.

Museum of Natural Science

Last Saturday on the trip to Houston included a stop at the natural science museum.  The kids loved the rainforest and butterfly exhibit.  Ancient Egypt was not well received with all the heads, sarcophagi, etc; however, the dinosaurs were universally loved.
